I recently purchased LanSweeper to integrate with WHD. In my initial testing, I am getting too many assets like monitors etc. that I really don't want to see in WHD. I'm also getting duplicate assets. The LS url fails in WHD. Is there any way to filter what comes over from LS? I still can't figure out why I'm getting so many duplicates.

Monitoring Desktops and Laptops with NPM?
Hello all
I am being gently encouraged (pressured) to investigating adding 3000 laptops/desktops (with dynamic addresses) to NPM, so our helpdesk can pro-actively find issues with low disk space and CPU utilization etc on end user devices. This would need to be WMI based.
I am thinking NPM is not the right tool for this, the load on the server would be massive, and managing 3000 dynamic devices would be a complete pain for them.
Is there a better product out there for this? Perhaps agent-based? Are there any more rock-solid reasons i can throw out there not to do this?

FEATURE REQUEST - Add SNMP Alternate Port option to Network Discovery
Add an option in Network Discovery to add an alternate udp or tcp port for the SNMP check.
Example: HP-UX standard snmp does not report properly for SolarWinds. Augment by installing net-snmp and have it run on an alternate port (standard snmp is required for other services, so no need to disable this way).

Error Message after installing SAM
First of all, this is my first week at the job. As a newbie, in order to learn NPM and SAM, I tried to install SAM for evaluation on our test server which NPM has already installed on. Then I realized that someone else installed before me and evalution period has expired. I decided to leave everything as it was before; however this time I got this error when I tried to open web console.

All down components in a single email for a single node
We monitor multiple services on our servers individually (cluster service, MSDTC, etc) and when we get alerts for a down service the email is for each individual service.
How can I format the alert to have all the down services (that we want to monitor) for a single node in one email?
Currently, I'm using these SQL variables:
Components down on ${N=SwisEntity;M=Application.Node.DisplayName}:
${N=SwisEntity;M=Application.ApplicationAlert.ComponentsWithProblems}

Report SSH via SolarWinds
Heya,
I need to test my devices and see which are ssh enable and which are not.
Is there any way to create a report just to check if the ssh is responding on the Switch/router/access-points?!

11.5 and iframes
Prior to 11.5 I was able to embed selected orion views on other webpages using iframes with a simple html as below. After upgrading to 11.5 I'm getting "This content cannot be displayed in a frame". Any knows how to get this going again.

Meru controllers CPU and Memory
Has anyone successfully set up CPU and Memory monitors on a Meru Controller? I have a list of Meru MIB's but it doesn't seem that any of them refer to CPU or Memory Utilization. Most of my Meru controllers are Meru MC4200's. Thanks for any help!

Memory monitoring on an ASR 1001 doesn't tally
Hi peeps
We are currently monitoring a Cisco ASR 1001. This is not in the "live enviroment but we are monitoring it before we make it our main gateway.
The problem we are having is Solarwinds monitor is indicating we are using a constant 62% of the memory on this device. We have disabled all debugging but the memory useage doesn't seem to tie up with what is being indicated on the device itself.
Has anyone else experianced similar issues with Cisco ASR devices

Anyone monitoring Cisco ASR 9K CPU & Memory via NPM?
ASR's CPU & MEM monitoring,
Either in realtime or while generating network utilisation reports, our NPM has never generated a correct reports.
We would be interested to know additional comments on ways to monitor ASR's CPU & MEM in realtime.

Polling Cisco Devices - memory alarms reporting falsely
Hi Everyone,
I have a situation where we have a bbr reporting in solar winds as 99% when we log into the device it is only at 69% and can't figure out why. I first moved the device to another poller and it took 20 minutes for it to update and then 10 minutes later reporting at 99% again and I logged into the device it is at 69%.
I am trying to understand why it is taking so long for the graph and the alert to clear.
Example 9:59 it alerted saying 99% memory
10:24 alerts say it is down to 49% but when I checked at 10:17 am it still said it was at 69% not 99%.

Virtualization Module not working right for Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter
I have several Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter Hyper-V nodes in Orion and they are showing up as 'Host status unknown'. I have verified proper credentials and IP addresses. This only seems to happen on the Datacenter Hyper-V hosts. I can poll their normal stats fine with Orion, it's the Hyper-V polling that isn't working. I'm running NPM 11.5.2, SAM 6.2.2, IVIM 2.1.0, NCM 7.4.

Uninstall Syslog service.
Hi,
I'm trying to uninstall the 14 day trial of syslog server (9.4.1) eval. installed on Windows Server 2003.
There is no uninstall service on the management menu drop down. as per the instructions.
"Using the Service Manager, uninstall the service
Use the Manage | Uninstall the Syslogd service menu."
Some help required please.

NTA Website Configuration Failed
I'm currently trying to finish installing the NTA 4.0.1 . I've completed the NTA database install part and I'm now working on the NTA server portion.
At the very end of the install, when the window opens and has ' Configuration installing' with the status bar showing progress, it finishes with an error.
Specifically it says:
*Website Configuration Failed: Un-handled exception occurred during instantiating type [SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Discovery.Plugin] from assembly [SolarWinds.Orion.Core.DiscoveryPlugin]*
Went ahead with the HotFixes but I received the same error during the configuration phase of each HotFix.
Did some research, and the discovery plugin mentioned in the error is from HotFix 2 on the NPM module.
A theory was it needed to be un-installed and re-installed? I shouldn't install it period? It was installed incorrectly?
If anyone has any experience in this, I would greatly appreciate the feedback. Working to get this installed on an Enterprise network now rather than later.

Incorrect lastboot time appearing for Cisco 6509 switch.
Something is not right. I have a Cisco switch and Solarwinds shows a lastboot time "7/15/2011 3:38", however from the device itself says“System restarted at 00:02:38 CST Fri Mar 5 2010”. What are the correct steps to take to ensure any switch is being polled correctly and displaying the correct lastboottime in Solarwinds? The community/ACL for some datacenter devices were corrected however, It is still displaying the wrong last reboot time. Should we rediscover the devices? I look forward to anyone's insight. thank you
