In speaking with PAN support it seems that there are many interesting "show" commands that don't have a MIB.
One of them is reviewing the NAT Table or consumption thereof:
e.g. "show running ippool"
PAN indicates these are exposed via their API which uses XML calls.
Is there a way to create a Custom Poller based on HTTP calls instead of SNMP?

I have recently started using SolarWinds again (it’s been a couple of years so I have forgotten quite a bit) and I am looking for guidance on how to monitor Cisco SX Codec video cameras. I was wondering if anyone out there is currently doing this and if I could get some ideas or a leg up from their experience. The type of things they want to monitor, create reports, and alert on are:
First pass
· Device up/down
· Jitter
· Latency
· Packet Loss (> 0.5% implies poor video quality)
Second pass
· Tagging
· Configuration Enforcement
· QoS
· Topology Mapping

I am trying to create a filter to look at the syslog message field and take action if a certain IP comes across. So far I can't get it to work and not sure why.
I have a simple filter using a Simple include of "dstip=172.16." and action is to go to a display.
Nothing comes across. I even moved it to the top of the list and yes, I cycled the syslog service just in case.
Ideas for something so simple?

Have you ever added HP P6350 to NPM through SNMPv3?
If yes,can you please share actual screenshots how to do it? I cant get HP Storage ,but other devices can be added with ease.Probably SNMP needs to be configured correctly,but I try based on guides,but in vain
On a normal day, all of a sudden my primary poller will stop showing any status for its CPU/Memory/Health Application/Polling Health monitor/IIS etc. I opened a case and there is not much of progress. Tried resetting the remote registry service, adding the registry entry by following a document from one of the thwack forums for the unknown application issue, tried restarting the server/services. No improvements yet, we were running the polling through WMI and moved to Agent based for all pollers recently. But this issue is not necessarily after we moved to agents as the polling/monitoring was working fine for more than 2 weeks on agents. What happens if I delete my main poller from nodes list and re-add it back. What happens to the polling elements assigned to it? Is there any other way we can try resolve this from any of your experiences before?
Several weeks ago the guys in the data center had to work on a physical machine, so they virtualized it temporarily using the same IP address. After they completed their work they shut down the guest and brought the physical server back up.
However, the physical machine in NPM still shows as a VM under one of our vmware hosts.
How can this be corrected so that the machine is appropriately tagged as a physical server?

I use NCM / NPM to monitor my network. i need to find mac address of all trunk ports in my network. and i want to automate this.
how to automate this with NCM / NPM. ?
though i can find it manually though by CLI, but since i have around 2000 switch to check i need automation.
i.e -- manually --> #sh int status | i trunk --> to get trunk port on the device and then #sh int XX to find the mac address of that port.
i have around 2000 devices in my network. so searching manually is a big task. i need to automate this .

how can I use the feature to automatically execute some lines for a compliance violation in NCM 7.4 ?
For example I have a missconfigured vlan id in my interface. The check will alert me. That works for me. Then I would like to use the remediationscript for auto deploy my fix.
The remediation is like this:
conf t
int gi1/0/11
switchport access vlan 123
end
If I start this manually it works. But the auto execute mode wont work. Do I have to acitvate some settings or should it work like this way?
We did a test with a single rule which we put into a single set in "Manage Policies". There it works to. But not with the existing rules we had before we upgrade from 7.3.2 to 7.4.

I'm working with a client who has configured DPA to connect to the VMWare Infrastructure. The VM monitoring has been configured with a user account and subsequently the user changed their password has meant the account continues to be locked. We've temporarily had to disable the Ignite PI Service to stop this recurring problem.
Is there a way we can start the Ignite PI Service without the VMWARE polling running - so that we get a chance to change the connection credentials before it locks out the account once more.
I'm hoping there is a flag I can switch in the database - before I re-enable to PI service.

Is there a way to monitor a website that uses TLS instead of SSL? Setting it up as a https monitor with port 443 returns an "unable to connect to remote device." Same result when set up as an http monitor with port 443.
Before Solar Winds, I was used spice work Network Supervisor, which worked OK until our firm decided to some changes in network. So we were forced to look among many other network tools.
We get used Network Performance management Toll for our network.
We looked into other tool suite, but we were not convinced about capability. Solar Winds seems to have a much better handle in that respect. I visit this site pretty much every day, sometimes multiple times per day.
We have gradually increased the number of Solar Winds tools. Now, besides NPM, we also have used the Engineers Tool set. and I like the Feature Request option -- where each of us can get to vote of the feature
That's my opinion for NPM.
How to send email alert if query running greater than 15 minutes,Session more than 24 hours and job greater than 1 hour??
I have scheduled few email alerts in solarwinds like job running for more than 1 hour. I am receiving the alert message on the next day of the issue raised.
Please suggest how to resolve the issue....
I'd like to have all the clients be able to view my current ticket queue. I'm the sole tech and would like all clients to be able to see the current ticket load so they can see what I'm working on. How would I enable that?
It looks like I could just make everyone a client admin, but I'm not sure if that's really the best way to go about that.
