Hello all,
I'm new here, and I'm definitely new to Solarwinds so I appreciate any help and advice that you may be able to offer.
I'm interested in creating a report to track the duration of WAN outages. Basically, we have MPLS connecting all of our locations. Some locations have bonded multilink circuits (2 or more T1s), while other locations have single T1s. Basically, an "outage" would be considered any of the following:
- The entire multilink goes down
- A single T1 goes down
- We lose the BGP neighborship to our provider's router.
We currently have nodes in Solarwinds that correspond to the IP address of our MPLS interface. If either the entire circuit (multilink at bonded sites, single T1 at the other sites) or the BGP neighborship goes down, then this node would go down. However, if a single T1 at a bonded site goes down, this node would still show as up. I'm interested in generating a report that would track the duration of any of the three listed scenarios.
I'm very new to Solarwinds and my SQL has become a bit rusty, but I'm definitely interested in learning so that I can leverage the complete power of Solarwinds reports. I'd love to hear any thoughts that the community has about the best approach to our scenario.
Thanks a lot!
Anthony
